Have you ever presented as the opposite gender? I have. But not in the current climate of philogyny and American political correctness. I did it way back in the 90s, when there was a sense of exploration involved.
Going out in public as a man dressed as a woman was quite confronting for me. I did shows, too. I chose my own outfits and did my own make up, chose and sang to my own repertoire in a woman’s voice. I had an absolute ball! It was exhilarating for someone with terminal stage fright.
I learned to speak and walk like a woman, to respond in feminine ways. I learned by observing. I covered up my masculine indicators as best I could and paid homage to woman-hood.
Back in the 90s, AIDs education was just getting underway with ACON. Being a gay man usually implied some familiarity with drag. Brisbane had at least 4 gay bars – yes, only for gay men and fag hags, NO straights unless they behaved – and several naked clubs.
Through the 90s, I developed my own understanding of my female side and indulged in that even out of drag. I considered transitioning. However, I felt a great aversion to taking horse hormones for the rest of my life. I’m far more attuned to authenticity than I am to pretence. I left Oz in 2001, a country that I was proud of, a country making strides in pride and equality…
Then I cam back in 2020 and the culture shock hasn’t stopped.
I was fairly isolated from Western culture in Japan. I fully immersed myself in their worldview and loved all of it except the gaijin glass ceilings and walls. The constant racist words and actions, day and night, became tiresome after 20 years. I was set to move to Canada but then April arrived with a one-way ticket back to-
-the abject idiocy of woke feminism and identity activism.
Yesterday, a well-dressed old woman saw me scratch my leg and felt perfectly happy looking me up and down with a sneer, and saying, ‘Well, maybe if you had shoes on the mozzies wouldn’t be biting ya.’
This sums up toxic femininity in a nutshell: men are worthless and accountability-free targets of hostility, logic is not required, and scoring points for philogyny is the goal.
To further clarify woke feminism unkindness and harm, I’ve been dealing wth an intelligent and wealthy woman over the past few months. Each time I describe the bullying, public humiliation and gaslighting I’ve experienced since I got back, she starts talking about how so many women are victims of violent crime.
False equivalency is the clearest indicator of a philogynist. Total lack of empathy and concern is the mechanism which powers the victimhood.
Just to clarify, very few woke feminists I’ve interacted with actually identify as such: they rather seem to position themselves in a world where every man is responsible for any claim of unfairness, crime, and pained expression, and that, importantly, no woman could ever possibly have played a role in any man’s reaction.
Growing up surrounded by women in absent-father homes, and then in absent-adult homes, being assaulted regularly by males, I did conclude and did hold the conviction that women were somehow better.
Yet, how does attacking a man, especially white men, in lieu of someone else’s transgressions, help?
It does not.
Current feminism is resulting in a gender war which the women will lose, and very badly.
Feminism of the 90s was focussed on equality, as all our social change groups were. There were and always will be male-haters, but they were a fringe who kept to themselves, usually.
The core issue was equality, but, that has devolved into empowerment: women must have the exclusive decision-making power in society, business, law and in the home.
Where decisions are made reactively and without either context or consequence, contextualised within philogynistic bias, is not just incredibly harmful, it is self-destructive.
There is no harmony to strive for, merely absolute power…
Let’s define a positive feminism, shall we? What do you think is a healthy social definition for women to teach each other?
I can only refer back to my days in the 90s, exploring my gay and female sides, and expecting to receive the equality and respect I gave. I can only draw comparisons to the current sociopathic movement of identity activism and conclude that key psycho-social needs must be embodied:
Respect, mutual and good natured.
Pride in self and what and who we are.
Co-operation, where one person’s strengths fulfils another’s weaknesses and we are greater as a whole.
Giving and receiving love.
This morning I watched a vid about Sydney Sweeney. She is coping a lot of hate from women, almost as if she is breaking the law prohibiting women from being attractive. Many women are bullying her and others are having hysterical fits because she won’t deliver hateful attitudes to men.
She seems to embody a healthy mind in a healthy body, with healthy attitudes toward herself and her audience.
Feminists ought to follow her lead, not in form, but in substance: feminism’s core responsibility must be supporting women to live healthy lives by accepting themselves, both strengths and weaknesses, holding onself to personal accountability, and working with others regardless of gender.
