Percolating and researching various philosophies such as politics, science, the occult, and biology, some clarity has finally blossomed.
Conflict of interest was a critical element in our democratic nationhood. It prevents politicians from becoming rock stars. A free press is as important through its ongoing education of the public. No politician will accept a cushy job knowing they will instantly be tarnished as will their party and their new company. Maintaining politicians as public servants rather than ostentatious ‘leaders’ also stabilises that career path and engenders the title with altruism and the public good. Neoliberalism is the nemesis of a healthy democracy.
Speaking of ostentatious rock stars, the current swathe of politicians are waving flags and hurling insults. Name calling is pretty immature, and when someone is a multimillionaire and the leader of a country, and faces zero scrutiny in public or the press, megalomania is the sure consequence. As it stands, our prime minister has moved the centrist-left party of Labo(u)r far to the left. This Great Leap Left is the thing that has got me thinking… what are the mechanics of the ‘left’ vs the ‘right’?
I watched a vid yesty by a white Yank chick who seems centrist right. Her vid was all about defining this political dichotomy. I have some clarifications of my own.
The left is open, altruistic toward the ‘other’, and dismisses facts which do not feel good. The right is closed, concerned about keeping what ‘has always worked’, and making sure the status quo is not bothered.
Emotionally, I would define the left as ‘love’ and the right as ‘fear’: the left uses connection, the right uses disconnection. Biologically, the left is that force which seeks expansion and cooperation with new ideas and people; the right is that force which seeks to maintain its cohesion and equilibrium.
My observation regards their weaknesses: the left fails to objectively evaluate possible threats and adapt accordingly. I great instance of the Left doing this is Denmark where openness is being maintained but the data of immigration impacts are being applied to protect citizens through policy. The right fails to consider how their traditions became traditions: what were the economic, social, political, environmental and spiritual factors which resulted in the solutions the right now uses? How have they changed? What is the best solution to implement now, which shall become the new tradition? A great example of this is Putin and Russia. That ‘last iron man of Russia’ thing was so James Bond. Life imitating art…
Any way, I digress:
The left leaps before it looks and rejects any criticism or objection as treason. The right keeps its head in the sand even as the blade swings towards its neck.
Surely, SURELY, there MUST be a way to move forward.
So we have in Australia the Lab party who are moving further left each social problem we have. The Greens were far left and have become extreme left. The Liberal-National coalition was right-centrist but has since collapsed into a puddle of idiocy. And One Nation was far right but has become right-centrist.
And all since the Bondi Massacre.
And these Greens, Labo(u)r, Liberal and National party politicians are all collecting hundreds of thousands a year from tax payers as their salaries with no accountability, we have rock stars.
How are rock stars going to suddenly do something reasonable, look at evidence, create good policy, and reject more fame and money?
A fellow I know yesty told me, ‘We should put guillotines in front of each of their homes so they know what’s coming.’
Off with their heads!
That’s the usual outcome for a mega-rich ruling class with no connection to the people they are there to ostensibly take care of. This is the social contract being destroyed by egotism. The left or right banter is irrelevant. With no objective evidence, no reasonable discussion, and no care for least possible harm, this cuntry will continue to flit away its most precious resource: a healthy and safe society.
