What does it mean
to be
caught
in the middle?

Betwixt and between
rock and a hard place
pondering the why
of those extremes…

Socio-cultural identities
play the same roles
as important
as life

Both sides claim
the same
just with different
hues.

Neither side has a clue!

Over the millennia
we developed the right way
to parse any farce
with Ockham’s Razor:

Pare away irrelevancies
bias and bigotry
focussing on
minimising injury

Requiring self-awareness
and humility.
Empathy and curiosity
are vital necessities.

The Left scream insults
like primary school children while
the Right fortify their positions
like warriors donning armour.

In between these insane hordes
I wonder…
Isn’t there a better way
to coexist?

Yes!
It’s called ‘secularism’!
Buddhism can help as well as
psychology

To find that middle path
away from the infantile women
and brutal men
away from the base of humanity

Back to where we used to be headed
the eternal path of growth
self-reflection
and evolution.

We do not need to
merely survive.
We can make the choice to
thrive.

I wish I could help more
Open the door
Whisk you all outside
for a breath of fresh air.

What part will you play
as this see-saw
rises and falls?
Will you push and jibe

Or slide toward the middle?

What is always in contact
Never in movement
And sees all?
