What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right?

When didn’t it, is the better question.
Love at first sight has proven to be my biggest cause of disasters, but even they have involved the old ‘every silver lining has a grey cloud’ scenario. You know, like that.
My second biggest cause of disasters has been trusting in equality: I’ve been bullied and publicly humiliated by more women in the past 6 years than I was in the previous 30. Updating my gut has taken a lot of effort and painful adjustments to reality… secular values are the only helpful ways to evaluate people these days: objective evidence, reason, accountability and least possible harm.
Ripping my guts out and replacing them with sensible observation really is a thorough exercise!
