Well, here we are, 70 years later, and three communist nations are apparently ready to destroy the West.
China and North Korea are supporting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with the EU supporting Ukraine to prevent Russian totalitarianism from spreading further.
Poland put a stop to China funding support through commodities shipping and Uzbekistan followed suit. The Baltic nations are strengthening defences and sending Russian citizens home. Denmark has tied up Russian shipping supplies. Germany, France and England are re-arming and supplying those arms to Ukraine.
Russia and China both pivoted to an open market i.e. capitalism in the 90s. Since then, both have acquired western tech and funds, and now both are targeting the West with our own generosity.
Apparently, McCarthy had the right idea: communism is an existential threat. Despite both Russia and China not thriving at all within the confines of a pure communist ideology, they and North Korea insist on acquiring more breeding room.
I do hope the outcome of all this is the division of these countries much as Germany was in the late 1940s. I hope the fake news of the West is likewise treaded as the enemy it is to democracy. I also hope neoliberalism is dismantled: social welfare and making profits are mutually exclusive.
The three players of communism are not a true representation of an alternative economic system, but they do represent a more extreme version of the West’s political system.
Democracy can only function where the state is not subject to coercion, either religious or economic, and where we citizens are informed without bias.
With any luck, we will avoid nuclear war and the communist triad will go back to feudalism.
This post-modern world we live in is a clusterfuck of epic proportions, but at least it isn’t as bad as the Commies.
