Who art thou?
to slay history
one must have an
agenda
Who art thou?
to devour one’s children
one must have a
moral imperative
I know thee!
before my eyes
I see thousands of years
writhing in agony
I know thee!
before my eyes
I see untold generations
yearning in desperation
Canst thou know me?
we look into each other’s eyes
recoiling from your pain
terrified of my scrutiny
Canst thou know me?
we feel each other’s lives
rivers with carcasses floating downstream
as do yet blooming petals of Spring.
