Orienteering

Oh look… a map!

You pick a map from a bookstand in a shop. Do you:

a: Look at the lovely towns on the map.

b: Eventually drive to one of those towns and have scrumptious snacks there.

c: Tell people the map is fake.

There are an awfully large number of people who wander about, living the answer ‘c’: nay-sayers who, without even picking up the map, proclaim the ‘truth’ confidently and loudly. Those of us lacking in means or filled with scheduling resort to ‘a’. The luckiest of us choose ‘b’.

Astrology is a map. Like any tool, it may be used well or poorly, for constructive or nefarious purposes. Usually, this tool is often used incompetently. However, once we have a map, we know our orientation to its points of interest.

Would you like to know how to improve yourself and evolve? North Node.

Would you like to understand your deepest personal needs? Sun, IC.

How about your particular needs for a mate? 7th, its Ruler, and Venus.

Even if I could give you the answer to your life’s happiness, that does not mean you become happy. It does not mean the mystery of existence is gone and all meaning is lost. It does mean you can orient yourself to yourself and investigate what has prevented happiness. It does mean the mystery lies in how you go about meeting your needs and how life’s meaning, itself, changes inside you.

I’ve had very few people who took nothing away from a chart reading. 3 in almost 35 years. Would you like to quibble over veracity? Please, spare me.

Astrology is a map which shows where things are, it’s true, but it is up to us to take action, and the time, and visit those places in ourselves. We may enjoy something lovely or endure something unbearable but these are our own parts of self.

Just remember, the more accurate your birth data, the more accurate the map. Confirming one’s time of birth is very important. Drawing a useful map is tricky without your birth time but it can be done.

Travelling to a town, choosing which way to go, driving carefully or care-free, enjoying the weather and sights, taking a good travelling companion with you, choosing where to park, and, finally, which cafe to snack at: The map only helps you get there but it is our choice how we take the journey and what we do when we arrive.

Astrology is just a tool which can be used poorly or well. I tend to take many detours off the route, just for fun, but I want to arrive at the cafe eventually.
